For I know the plans I have for you....
Well, it has been a busy couple of weeks, but things have been encouraging lately.- I (Nate) have been still working on contacting churches about sharing our ministry. This has been a long and difficult process, but it is all part of the deal. Praise the Lord for promising contacts that have been made in the past week or so.
- After six weeks of planning and invitations, we saw more than 50 people turn out to a special prayer event at our home church in Yuba City. Praise God that He has raised up so many faithful friends and prayers for us here. Pray with us too as we are hoping to collect 150 dedicated prayers on our behalf before we head out for the field. (If you would like to be on our Prayer Team, please drop us a line so that we can keep you informed better.)
- We are making plans for the new year right now and are encouraged as we think about all of the friends that we have all over the country. We are hoping to be on the road visiting many different places from mid-March through the end of April. Pray that our trip will provide a good chance to connect with folks.
- After talking with our partners (who are in PNG) last night, we are encouraged even more to get there and begin the work that is laid out for us. Praise God for the strong relationships that he has given our team. Pray for us, that we would be ready in May with a full prayer team, enough finances, and the right paperwork so that we can join our team quickly. In that same vein, the two other couples that make up our team (Tim and Bekka Peterson and Mason and Kim Lockwood) will be talking with the leadership on the field there about when a survey of potential tribal areas should be done. Right now it looks like they will be visiting potential villages sometime between February and April. Pray for wisdom as we already have an invitation from one tribe.
- Christmas is nearly upon us, and shortly after that, we will be moving again. We have been blessed to live here in the Yuba City area for an extended period. We will miss the friends that we made here. Pray that there will be opportunities for us to connect with people in the Humboldt county area. Pray also as we prepare to transition, it will be the fourth move for us this year.
