A Trip to Town
See those triumphant smiles on our faces? Those two red bags by our feet? Yup, we went to town today all by ourselves! Now I know for most of you, going to town unaccompanied is a hurdle that was crossed before you exited junior high school (ok high school at the latest), but it was a bit of a milestone for us here in PNG. We did not even forget which side of the road to drive on once! (the answer is *left* by the way).
After a week of adjustments to the heat, to the home, to other physcial ailments (Nate lost ten pounds), and just to life in PNG, we are beginning to feel ready to head full-bore into studying Tok Pigin and learning about the local culture.
The boys have been enjoying exploring their new home. The have had fun with some of the BIG bugs that are around as well as enjoying the exotic fruits we find here. They are getting used to the heat and wearing hats (although Elias will deposit his hat on the ground if he thinks no one is looking).
We just want to say thanks again for praying for us. We have truly been blessed by you all.
