Glimpses from the last two weeks...

Sorry about the delay in publishing lately. Four fifths of us have been battling illness and things have gotten hairy with the start of school.

Elias opening a birthday package from Grandma and Grandpa…our big 2 year old!

A hike overlooking the valley we live in
A lovely view…interrupted only by a “potty emergency” from our 3 year old, an upset mama cow separated from her calves (don’t laugh…these animals have serious horns!) and a tiny little girl without a stitch of clothing on who ran out to greet us!

“His jokes are actually funny!” – high praise indeed, from a student after Nate’s first few days of teaching. Nate’s really enjoying the work. Teaching here at the school for missionary kids is an awesome opportunity for ministry. Nate works with kids whose parents are able to remain in tribal work because their kids are getting a good, godly education from people who care about them. A number of his students have learning disabilities which is an extra challenge in teaching! His class line-up includes Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Physics and Calculus.

“Sometimes I have lots of boogers in my nose and have to get them out.” ~a random quote from Tim, aged 3 ¾…as we sat listening to Nate teach a high point from Psalm 18 during our family Bible time the other day. Obviously Tim was getting quite a lot of spiritual encouragement from the time! Please don’t expect that our kids are any different than yours!

Things to thank our Father for!
-His graciousness in loving His boogery (is that a word?!) children

-Work to do and the strength to do it

-Seeing His Word go out in many tribal locations in Papua New Guinea is so exciting and encouraging

Things to ask for with us
-Wisdom and balance in deciding which ministries and activities to be part of here…there are SO many. May we seek His priorities and pleasure, not our own.
-Diligence as we train our children…especially our 2 year old!

-Open doors (clear direction!) as we consider different options for tribal church planting work next year.
