Junior Executive....

Noah decided that the tie would really dress him up for our recent family photo (below), don't you agree?

Thanks for praying last week. After our presentation and hours of discussion with leadership here in PNG we have received a green light to pursue ministry in Pal. They have asked us for four things before we actually move in to Pal:
  • Gather more information about Mum, one of the bordering language groups. This may entail some fairly significant work as we need to determine if Mum would be a strategically better language group to work with.
  • Seek a third couple for partnership. To effectively church plant in a remote tribal location is a huge job - especially when Bible translation and outreach are thrown into the mix. A third couple would allow the team to continue working at nearly full capacity even when one family is on home assignment.
  • Use NTM's helicopter for moving in. This effectively pushes our timeline back a little as we only have one helicopter pilot and he will be on furlough through July (at least). At the same time, it adds to our flexibility and saves us money.
  • Have all necessary finances in place for building the houses and moving in. We are trusting the Lord with our partners to see this happen. Currently we have about 50% of the necessary funds.
You can be praying for us as we seek to honor our leadership in these areas. We feel that they have given us wise advice based on years of experience and dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Since this post is a little long at this point, I guess you'll have to wait for next week for the answer to:
How do we find out about remote tribal people in the first place?

May we say again how much it means to us to have you all praying for us and supporting us.
Nate for the family
