And the winners are...

A young Pal girl readies to welcome some important visitors to the village.

Drum roll… and the winner is: nobody. Don’t worry it’s not you, it’s us (really). Turns out that our clues could have been a little more specific particularly concerning word with popular synonyms. The stumper turned out to be ‘total’ – every respondent put in ‘sum’.  So our contest suffered from a bit of lameage (yes, I just made that word up). To distance ourselves from the scandal, we were going to distract you all with a funny anecdote or some neato pictures, but we feel it is really …. Hey, what is that over there?

…. Still here? I guess that one only works on the kids. Anyway, we decided to award the contest prize to Jennifer Souza – who not only was the very first respondent, but also correctly identified 5 of the 6 words in the challenge. Jennifer, your prize should be delivered in person sometime in the next 6-8 weeks. A runner-up prize goes to Jan Claasen (Hi mom!) whose response was equally accurate if slightly delayed. Jan, your prize of a simultaneous hug from all three grandkids will also be delivered in person in a matter of 2 ½ weeks (Dad, if you are nice, mom might share with you).

Limbo

Limbo, while a nice game, and always good for a laugh, usually ends up with someone falling down on their backside (ouch, more laughter). The state of limbo (suspended animation) seems to be a pitfall associated with transition. We are asking for your prayers this week as we  continue study, relate to our friends, pack, continue school for the kids, and plan for the next months in the States. We’d like to continue in the work as effectively as possible and not leave Pal mentally before we leave physically. You can pray for good balance (and that we don’t end up flat on our backs massaging our bruises).

Thanks so very much for your partnership,

Nate for the Claasens
