A month on the move.

Well, after a longish silence, we are once again ready to begin updating
this blog regularly so stay tuned. These last three months or so have been
full of growth in the Mesi church, good reunions with coworkers, connecting
with other missionary teams here in PNG, and working hard at developing and
expanding infrastructure in support of the work here. We're newly returned
to Mesi-land after nearly a month out of the bush. Our adventures have been
numerous - including a weather forced helicopter landing in the middle of
nowhere. So, we are happy to get home, to spend time again with the
believers here and to encourage them in their faith.

One of the fellas came to me shortly after we got back and was talking about
how he was struggling with his thoughts. He sought forgiveness from his wife
and (praise God) they were able to pray together and encourage each other.
Others of the guys have been taking on extra work in the literacy school to
support some of our teachers who have gone to town for medical attention.

As you think of and pray for us and the Mesi church, please keep these
things on your mind:
* Growth in standing on the truth. You might be surprised at the things that
our guys hear from others - mostly fantastic and false. Please pray that
they would be able to use God's Word effectively to combat false teaching.
* Growth in practical love for each other. The Mesi believers are still very
young in the Lord and they struggle with really caring for each other.
* Medicine and an aid-post worker. There is a great shortage of medicine
here in country at the moment. The closest aid post has not had medicine for
the community for 5 months. We have been helping out some, but we feel under
qualified and under equipped to sustain this work in the long term.
* Literacy support/Team office building. We now have 36+ teachers and
leaders in the literacy program. We are planning on building a small - 20'
x 24'- building to continue to grow and train these fellas as well as to
house our team offices. We are hoping to begin training the fellas to use
computers so they can take even more responsibility for literacy growth,
translation, and lesson development here in Pal. We have the site picked out
and hopefully will be able to begin building in May.

Thanks for your continued partnership and care for us and the Mesi people.
Nate for us.
