Almost Home
In the last week, we have traveled over 2,500 miles, making the journey from snowy Michigan to sunny and then rainy Oregon. We thank the Lord for safety in the journey - especially during the big snow storm in Michigan (we counted more than 13 other cars in the ditch).
Not only has the Lord been faithful for us in safety, He has been faithful in teaching our hearts and encouraging us in His Word. We praise God for what He is doing in the faithful ministry of our friends in New Bridge, what a joy to fellowship with them this Sunday and to hear about what the Lord is doing there.
Tomorrow we are heading back into Humboldt County in northern California for a couple of days to gather our things and then we are heading down to Yuba City for about a month. It sure will be nice to settle in to a routine with the boys again (I think all of us are operating on different time zones).
Here are some things that you can be praying for this week:
- Meetings scheduled in the greater Sacramento area. We have made contact with quite a number of folks, but have not heard back yet. We believe this is due to the Easter rush - but we need to make those contacts very soon.
- Training wisdom for the boys. This trip has thrown them off a bit and so readjustments could be tough.
- Paperwork - we have been collecting all of the papers and documents necessary for applying for entry permits into Papua New Guinea. We should hear sometime in the next week or two that we should start to send those things in for processing. This is critical for our projected July departure. Pray specifically that there would be no glitches and all of our documents are in order. Also pray for the operators of PNG's new immigration computer system (it has all the bugs of a new computer system).
Here are some things that we are praising God for:
- More than 140 of the 150 slots on our daily prayer team are filled!
- There are several different options for minsitry on the field that have been brought up and they are exciting.
- All of the relationships that God has given us. We feel that we could make a home at any stop along our route and be completely surrounded by great people who are also good friends.
Thanks for all your prayers on our behalf,
Nate for the family
