Thinking, Praying, Waiting...

It has been a couple of months since we posted an email here that we got from the field. It was the email that told of the critical need for workers to fill in the gaps in existing works before new tribes could be reached. Honestly it was an email that shook us up a bit, but we see it as all for the good. Although it cost us the certainty of our roles and the team that we had worked so hard to build, we have been encouraged to see God's hand in it. It has been a stripping away of things that we could trust in other than Him. It also has encouraged us even more to speak more loudly and clearly of the need for believers to participate in reaching the unreached.

So why do I bring it up? Well on our trip across the country, we were able to read a bit from Hudson Taylor's biography, and this certain passage from one of his letters jumped out at us:

We may be losing some of our Ningpo missionaries...who will go inland. And, Oh, will not the Church at home awaken and send us out many more to publish the Glad Tidings?
Many of us long to go, oh how we long to go! But there are duties and ties that bind us that none but the Lord can unloose. May He give 'gifts' to many of the native Christians, qualifying them...for the care of the churches already formed, ...and thus set us free for pioneering work.

While we do not know what exactly what our portion will be in the harvest field, we are more confident than ever that the Lord of the Harvest has us right where He wants us.

By His Grace,
Nate for the family

PS: Please keep praying for paperwork, for more meetings in churches, and for wisdom in packing and planning. (And for the boys that they do not get lost in shuffle of the next couple of months.)
