'Did you find your almond yet?' -Tim

'Almond?' I replied, 'What almond.'
'You know, the nut your were looking for...'

I had (ten minutes before) been interrogating Tim, a boy with sticky fingers for all things mechanical, about where he had put a nut and washer that I needed for a project...

Here are some other things the kids have been saying:

'Are we in America?' - Tim, upon entering the air-conditioned finance office on base
'Mr. Joseph's truck can drive over CARS!' - Tim, speaking of the Ford-Ranger sized pickup, obviously awe-struck that it is 4-wheel drive
'I going to be a scientist.' - Noah, setting off with his bug net, magnifying glass, and binoculars for a little explore around base
'Uhhh, Aaaaaa, Uhhhh' -Elias, begging to have his superman cape put on
'It would take a long time, like an HOUR.' - Noah, talking about travel to America
'Movie! I figured out your code!' - Noah, erupting shortly after I casually asked Elizabeth if she wanted a  E-I-V-O-M.
'I tried to close my eyes, but the thunder made them come open.'  - Tim, after a thunderstorm
'Maaaaaama!' - Elias,  calling for someone to appreciate his achievement of climbing onto the table and teetering near the edge. (Mom showed her appreciation by catching him before he hit the floor and then giving him a stern talking to.)
'Dad! Elias just put a bug in his mouth.' - Noah ('Heehee, mmmmm' - Elias)
'Dad! Elias just put some dirt in his mouth.' - Noah ('Heehee, mmmmm' - Elias)
'Dad! Elias just put some chalk in his mouth.' - Noah ('Heehee, mmmmm' - Elias)
'Dad! Elias just put a rock in his mouth.' - Noah ('Heehee, mmmmm' - Elias)
We could go on and on. Suffice it to say, the kids are doing great and seem to have settled well into life here.

Things to Pray for:
Today Elizabeth is taking a language evaluation. Please pray for her to remember all that she has worked so diligently at studying. We'll let you all know how it goes.
You can be praying for the boys this week too, they seem to be working through colds which doesn't help their sleep.
For me (Nate), I am learning to manage diverse responsibilities, finishing up culture study, making time for Elizabeth to do the same, and working part-time in the finance office here on base.

Praise God for His faithfulness and tender mercy to us.
Nate for the family
