Into Mibuland

Seamstress, Madang Market April 2008
Tomorrow at 6:15am we are traveling into Mibu - a remote tribal location in the Finnesterre Mountain Range here in Papua New Guinea. For the next two weeks we will be meeting with the Mibu Church to gather information and to determine if we should be the ones to assist them in outreach. We are very excited about the possibility of assisting a tribal church in outreach - but there are many potential obstacles as well. Please be praying for us during these two weeks. For team unity, wisdom, kids adjustments, good relationships, and that God would direct us and the Mibu church in all we do.During this trip we will not be sending or receiving email, but we will try to respond to you as soon as we get back.
Here is a letter that we received from one of the Mibu church leaders - translated from tok pisin:
“I am very happy that you are coming to Mibu. It is because I am a Bible Teacher that I am happy that you are coming. I have been teaching in Yongem (an evangelistic outreach) and some other places… I don’t understand the translation side of the work and I am upset about it... I have been praying that God would send a workman to help me in this work. I believe it is you two: Nate and Mason” – David Beng
Thanks a ton for your partnership in the gospel,
Nate for the Claasens.
