Connections...
One of the panels in our Missions Exploratorium
United in Prayer
One of the things that has most encouraged us in our home assignment time has to be spending time with other believers in prayer. What an awesome boost then to have the opportunity this last weekend of time of connection and intercession for the Pal people. Many of the people who attended our Missions Exploratorium expressed to us a new-found connection with what is going on in Musupum and took away with them the photo of an individual Pal person to pray for. While we were tired from the myriad of preparations, we had a great time with the games, skits, and even fielding some tough questions about the nuts and bolts of church planting. Thanks so much to all who were involved in putting displays together and manning the stations during the three services.
“No park in the towel room.” - Anonymous
During the Exploratorium, we gave many of our friends a chance to hear the Pal equivalent of ‘Now you and I are talking together.’ Technically we’d write it using the phonetic alphabet, but the best transcription that we can come up with using our normal alphabet is ‘ngongo pal kotavarom’. As part of the fun, we challenged all comers to listen and then write down what they heard – with the most accurate answer winning a half pound of PNG coffee. Everybody did a great job and there were some really good answers:
“Nomo pal kotabaron”
“Nguo mupal kotalbarung.”
“Nomo par cotawaron”
The winner was Robyn McConnell with “nongo pal kotawaron” and we put her coffee in the mail today.
Travel
We’ll be sweeping through several different places over the next weeks and will wind back up to settle for a couple of months up in Humboldt County, CA, by May 10. You can be praying for us as we gather no moss even though we may desire just a little bit here and there…
Again, thanks to all of you for praying,
Nate for the family
