Honey, I'm home...

A long way from home…

“Just made it to Kurunia” – Nate’s text message.  He’s been hiking for 2 days to cover the roughly 50 miles back into Pal on foot and just arrived at one of the community gardens.  Just 3 ½ miles left to our house in Pal.

Nate is currently hiking back into Pal in order to finish some last work needed before we head to our yearly conference and then two workshops related to Bible translation.   He had planned to hike in last week, but I got hit with a week-long fever/flu bug and he delayed in order to help care for Elias and I.  Now that I’m back on my feet, he’s putting his to good use as well.

Noah and Tim are also far away.  They had a wonderful week with cousins in Canada and are on their way to California.  We are thanking God for this time that our two older boys have to reconnect with their grandparents, family and home culture.  But we sure are missing them!

Praising God for:

·         Some Pal guys coming along as hiking partners for Nate on the trip up into the mountains.

·         All of our boys enjoying friend and family time – there are 3 other little boys just about Elias’ age here at the mission center we are staying at, so he hasn’t had a chance to get too lonely for his big brothers yet.

Asking Him for:

·         Hiking partners back DOWN the mountain for Nate and safe hiking later this week.

·         The return of our co-workers, the Lockwoods.  The doctors’ appt. they have been waiting for is on Monday.  Thank you for praying that they will be restored to the work after a long year of illness!  We are praying they will be back in Papua New Guinea very soon.

·         Fruitful and encouraging time at our yearly conference and at the upcoming translation workshops.

·         That our eyes would be focused on Jesus through lots of events and travel over the next 6 weeks.
