Countdown

School house

The first Pal school building is coming together nicely, a few of the faces that will be there on day one.

Pal School Checklist:

  • Primers checked and printed.
  • Pal Readers finished and printed
  • School walls and structure in place.
  • Supplies purchased (pencils, notebooks, etc)
  • Eye-glasses in place (Thanks to all who sent some)
  • Blackboards nearly finished
  • Members of the first class selected (just a couple to go)
  • Excitement = fever pitch.

We are excited to report that things are coming together for the first ever Pal literacy school. In just a short time, we will begin classes in the building which is nearing completion. (Teams of Pal men and women have been working most days constructing the building and preparing the area.)  its been hard work, but the toughest thing by far is turning people down when they ask to be a part of that first class.

Its true, Pal men have hiked from up to five hours to spend time with us asking to be included on the roster. While we’d love to have as many as possible come to literacy as soon as possible, we need to start small to build the discipleship model that we hope will extend to the Pal church.

The Big Idea

What we are hoping to do with the Pal people in all we do is to teach literacy once, train teachers the next time, observe and support those teachers for the third class, and by the time of the fourth class, leave them in charge of that same process.  (Teach, train, support, entrust).  Will you pray with us for those first students – that they will be ready to further the work with us here in Pal?

Thank You

Your care for us in prayer, financial support, and in sending different practical things to be used in the work here in Pal is vital to our progress. Thanks so much for your faithfulness.
