Growing Teens & Their Terrific Teachers
Noah, Tim and Elias are back in school. In fact, they’ve just wrapped up their first of 4 terms for the year. Noah is well into his junior year, and Tim is a freshman in high school! Elias has finally achieved 'junior high' status in 7th grade. Yes. Yes, we are old.
Familiarity with their surroundings has made a huge difference for our guys. They know what their routines and responsibilities look like, and they’re all enjoying school at Numonohi Christian Academy.
We are so thankful for the excellent staff at this small school. Noah has the privilege of taking two AP classes this year (Environmental Sciences & Human Geography) and Tim is taking Biology, Geometry and Spanish 1, among other classes. While we can (and did!) offer our kids a few of those kinds of classes through home school/correspondence, we are so thankful for our boys to have the experience of great classrooms and teachers.
One lucky teacher (ha ha!) gets to teach all three of our boys. Emily B. has been a faithful and much-loved English teacher at the school for the last 12 years. For a while, she taught all four levels of high school English, plus an AP level. We've had a dearth of English teachers for some years, though, and for the last several years she has taught grades 7-12 English with 6 preps. You teachers out there know what I'm talking about. Pray for her.
And, will you pray with us for an additional English teacher to come alongside our fabulous Miss B here in Papua New Guinea? And thank Him with us for faithful teachers who pour into the lives of kids whose parents are serving as church-planters/Bible translators and support missionaries.
