Come to you

Alone.  Persevering.  Running a long-distance race.  Many missionaries are serving in remote locations with few opportunities to connect with those who share their own language and culture.

One of Nate's favorite responsibilities as Coordinator for our area missionaries has been visiting into tribal locations to connect and encourage.

The Apostle Paul set us a good example in this:

"Now may our God and Father Himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you."
~1 Thessalonians 3:11

"...so that I may come to you with joy, by God's will, and in your company be refreshed."
~Romans 15:32

"...I hope to come to you soon..." ~1 Timothy 3:14

We've shared about some of Nate's travels already with you.  A while back, I got to join him while we had a visit with my dear friend Rach and her family.  Rachel and her husband Dan have lived in their area for 12+ years and are teaching, discipling and translating God's Word.  Their co-workers are on home assignment this year, so it was timely for us to connect with them and learn a bit about their life and ministry.

This little structure is where the believing women meet to pray and be encouraged from God's Word.

WHAT an incredible drive it was.  We were so thankful for safety - no roadblocks this time.
Nate enjoyed meeting this believer who is faithfully helping Dan teach.

Over 50,000+ tribal men, women and kids live in this beautiful valley and speak the language.

Pray for Rachel and Dan as they persevere in an area where drug, alcohol and gambling addictions have drastically impacted the community.  It struck us that they have, in essence, an 'inner city' ministry even though their location is rural.  They pray, they persevere, they serve and they love.  So sweet to see them in action.

Pray for faithful men and women to continue to be raised up in their area and for the Gospel to take root.  They have seen lives transformed and they are asking God for more!
