Prayer Nights!
What is a little mud-on-the-face between friends?
Howdy once again from drippy Northern California. These last few weeks have been a bit on the hectic side for us just with field preparation not to mention a couple of medical emergencies in Nate's extended family. You can be praying for both of his grandparents complete recovery. Tonight we are putting the final touches on plans for our two prayer nights this weekend. Please be praying with us that God will raise up many people to labor with us for the people of Papua New Guinea. Here are some other things that you can be praying about:
- Plans for our trip are coming together. We will be leaving on Friday the 16th and won't have a chance to grow any moss for 5 weeks. Pray that the time is fruitful, that we can encourage our friends along the way, and that we are about God's purposes the whole time.
- Our good friends and fellow missionaries, Mitch and Jenny Hoskins, visited us this week. They are leaving for the field in May to be there in time for the school year that begins in July. They were able to encourage us a bit about the reorganization of the ministries in Papua New Guinea. Pray that the guys in charge of implementing the streamlined procedures will have God-ordained wisdom.
- Speaking of organization, this week we got our entry packet for Papua New Guinea. This is the magic document that gives specific details about expectations and process for new missionaries. We learned that, due to the decline in value of the US dollar over the last few years, we are going to have to raise more financial support than we had at first anticipated (like 25% more). This, of course, was no surprise to God, but you can be praying with us that we would trust Him for provision in His time.
- You can be praying too for us as we look at this next year. We have seen a preliminary needs list for support workers on the field and are seeking God's direction about what He might direct us to initially.
