Expectations...
We certainly did not expect to get very wet, much less travel directly under a waterfall, when we first got in line. Sure a few of the folks coming off of the ride looked a little wet, but there were some folks that walked by almost totally dry. Much to our chagrin and the amusement of an entire family of non-english speaking tourists, we did indeed shower early and often last Thursday. As a public service I would like to make the following observation: water jets on the White Water Safari ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom are aimed to perfectly target the faces of 2-4 year olds who attempt the ride (it wasn't funny for Tim until much later).
Why do I bring it up? Well, we have been thinking alot about our expectations lately. What are the things that we take for granted that really shouldn't be? What about things that we expect on the field? Please be praying with us for flexibility as we look ahead to coming face to face with assumptions and expectations that we don't even realize that we have.
As for the paperwork process that you have been praying for with us, we have heard nothing new as of this point. Because of the slow-down, we are unlikely to get all of the paperwork done by the 14th of August. This means that we have decided to reserve plane tickets for the 28th of August - a two week delay. One advantage of the delay is that we have four more opportunities to share the ministry during those two weeks. Praise God for opening and closing doors in His time.
Again, we so value your partnership with us,
Nate for the C's
