Saying Goodbye...and Hello...

Well, this will be our last prayer update from NTM’s support center in Madang, Papua New Guinea…our next communication with you all will be from the Lapilo support center, just outside the town of Goroka. Our walls are bare (“I hate naked walls,” says Nate) and the fine layer of mold has been bleach-washed off. Now we just have 5,327 more surfaces to bleach off (we’re not kidding, EVERYTHING molds here!) and we’ll be ready to fly out Monday morning, June 30th. (That would be Sunday afternoon, June 29th for all of you in North America.)
In the next week we will be:
-putting most of our books and kitchen stuff into storage for the next year. The family whose home we’ll be living in for the next year has five kids and they were glad to leave their kitchen items out (read between the lines: everything that could be broken by small children already bit the dust)…and the school has a great children’s library that we plan to use intensively! So we’ll save some money by storing those heavy items, rather than moving them at 80 cents a kg. (The road from Madang to Goroka has been a hotspot for carjackings lately, so for safety we are taking the mission airplane)
-teaching Nate’s replacement the accounting program that Nate has been working with for the last few months.
-Saying goodbyes to dear friends here in Madang.
-Did I mention the layer of mold to be removed from everything? ☺
Thank you for praying for us! Moving is always stressful. We are excited to see what God will be doing both IN us and THROUGH us during this next year. We have been learning much about trusting Him and His plan for us. We appreciate each one of you…thank you for lifting us up before the Father!
