Planning and Prayer...
Wow, has it been almost three weeks since we have sent out an update? Isn't it crazy that when there are many things going on, we have the least time to connect with and update you all, yet it is times like these that we need you prayer the most.
What has been going on for us over the last couple of weeks were finishing out school for the semester, compiling the information that we have collected from our first survey, preparing and planning our next steps, and beginning to celebrate Christmas.
We are looking forward to a visit from our partners next week - we'll be spending time planning and processing our next steps as well as spending Christmas with them. We have several things planned including a Christmas Eve service here on campus where Noah will be a wise man. Tim has had a recent aversion to dressing up and so will sit this one out.
Also in the last week we found out Elias had a double ear infection - his pain tolerance is so high, he was only mildly grumpy so it was tough to catch.
That said, we'd like to get back on a weekly update schedule, but probably won't for about a month. Here is why (some things you can definitely be praying for!)
Week 1: Dec 14-20: Family preparations for Christmas, Nate prepping next semester classes, looking and planning for construction of bush house for Summer 2009. (If we don't order some of the things we'll need now, they won't arrive in before October...)
Week 2: Dec 21-27: Meetings with partners, strategy, dividing workload, looking at finding another couple to complete our team. Also Christmas and associated activities.
Week 3: Dec. 28-Jan 3rd: Nate and Mason (partner) gone on survey - back inside Pal territory. We'll be looking into the seven or more northern villages that we missed on the first survey. Pray for wisdom, good weather (its rainy season), and good health (Nate came back with some big time infections last time). Please pray too for Elizabeth and the boys while Nate is gone.
Week 4: Jan 4th-Jan 10th: Nate arrives back on the 5th, the 6th is our anniversary (8 years!), and school starts back on the 7th! We'll trust the Spirit to direct your prayers for that week.
Again, thanks so very much for being part of the team. We hope that you are sustained and encouraged by the love of our Savior - especially during this time when we celebrate His birth!

We were amazed at the amount of time you need to pre-order things. I assumed that it would take longer than getting things here in the states but 10 months, that's a long time!
We look forward to hearing how God answers prayer and want to wish you a Merry Christmas!
