Survey Prayer Update: Day 1

FYI: This is the first of seven daily posts that hopefully will encourage you to take a little extra time over this next week to pray with us as Nate and our partner, Mason, meet with the Pal people for a second survey. At the bottom of this message is a map that hopefully gives you an idea of the layout of our journey - note because of contingency policy we are not free at this point to share place names.)

Today we will be dropped off in M. by the SIL helicopter. We will spend a little time with the folks there (we spent a couple of nights there last survey) and then head on to a couple of other villages (W. and K.) to meet with the people there. Total hiking time: about 3 hours.

Pray for our meetings with the folks that we have talked to before, that we will be able to understand what their thinking is concerning NTM.
Pray too for our conversations with the folks in the other villages - we will be sharing with them the four key 'promises' of NTM:
  1. Missionaries commit to learning the tribal language and culture.
  2. Missionaries commit to teaching the tribal people to read and write in their own language.
  3. Missionaries commit to translate the Bible into the tribal language.
  4. Missionaries commit to teach the people the whole story of scripture from the beginning to the end.
Pray that the people will truly understand what we are offering and that they do not misunderstand what it is that we hope to bring.
