Nourished
More and more we are seeing the Mesi believers relying on the written Word of God as their nourishment. They are growing in their ability to encourage each other to hold the truth and reject false thinking that they hear from unbelievers.
In one of the praise songs that we sing in Mesi church, we sing the words:
Hear the written talk, hear the written talk,
Jesus is coming back, its true.
So turn your back on all that is of this ground
And wait, looking for Him.
Watching our friends, I am reminded of Psalm 119. I hope that this encourages you as well.
Psalms 119:97, 103-104
97 Oh, how I love your instructions!
I think about them all day long.
103 How sweet your words taste to me;
they are sweeter than honey.
104 Your commandments give me understanding;
no wonder I hate every false way of life.
Please keep praying for the Mesi church.
· Long term planning – what we as missionaries need to do to ready the church to stand well on truth and to be ready to share the Word with others.
· Continued health for us and our friends. There is no medical help for our friends within 2 days hike from here – so we, with limited resources and knowledge are trying our best to take care of the urgent needs that are all around us.
· Willingness to put their own lives on hold for the advance of the gospel in the community. One special mesi woman, Nagal, shared with Elizabeth that God has been encouraging her to let go of her fears and to travel with her husband to take the good news to the next places.
· Open doors in the Kovol language group and missionaries to allocate there soon. We hope that some white missionaries will come and begin planting a church in Kovol alongside our Mesi believers. Our goal is that expats allocate within the next year so that, by the time they learn the language there, the Mesi church will be able to partner with them in bringing the truth to a whole new people group.
· We have a short home assignment planned for next spring and summer (April-July). As we look ahead to that time, we are preparing materials for the church here and making plans for family time as well as time to meet with and share the work with you all. Can you handle Mesi news? Let us know and we’ll be sure to put you on the schedule.
Grace to you all,
Nate for us
