Delay, OK.
Well this one deserves its own post. After a phone conference with the NTM chairman of the Madang region, we were made aware of the reality of third world paperwork. Anyway, its official, we will be delayed into July at least. Dave (the chairman) told us to expect three months minimum for our visas and work permits to be approved. Since there is another major visa renewal project going on, we cannot apply until the middle of April. Pray with us that the Lord uses that extra time for us to encourage others about the needs in tribal missions. Pray with us that it really does take the minimal amount of time - or that God works the impossible, and we get to go earlier. Pray too for us as we are sometimes discouraged that our partners are so far ahead of us in the process.
On a side note, we are planning our jungle home this month so that we can plan the solar power system for it. Once we have that plan, we need to purchase all of the electrical components for our house (panels, wiring, batteries, fuses, circuit breakers, charge controllers, inverter, generator, etc) in February, so it can go out in April so that it can get to Papua New Guinea by September, so that we are ready to move into the tribe as soon as possible. Pray for clear thinking and wisdom and frugality in planning.
Thanks!
