Faulty Fonts, Clear Message

It was a little hiccup in the presentation when (although I thought I had packaged the presentation correctly) our font went missing and all that showed up was the random symbology of the Wingdings typeface. Ironically, as we talked with these believers about missions, literacy, and translation, we were struck with a functionally incomprehensible slide show. It was a vivid reminder to us of the inaccessibility of the scripture for many tribal folks right now. We were thusly encouraged to share the need for translators that are not only committed to translation, but to the development of literate people who can read the Word of God and then be set free by the Gospel message.
Thanks for your prayers for us as we share with new folks about the work that God has called us to. We are excited to see how God continues to build for us a team of committed laborers for His glory.
- You can be praying for us as we contact new churches in the Arcata/McKinleyville area these next weeks.
- You can also be praying as Nate has some minor surgery this Thursday afternoon in preparation for heading overseas.
- Praise the Lord for safe travel and relatively smooth transition from Yuba City to Arcata.
- Praise the Lord for the 27 wonderful years He has given Elizabeth (as of the 17th)
- Please continue to pray with us and the team for direction. Survey begins in February and we are narrowing down the choices. (We spent about 2 hours on the phone with out team this evening and were encouraged to find that we are all coming to the same place individually)
- Please be praying for the Tobo people of Madang. They have been presented the complete story from Creation to Christ (the teaching began in October and ended Tuesday). There is much opposition to the message among them. Pray that they accept the truth.
