Transitions Again
Well, it has been a while since we have posted any updates. We could blame it on the move, the holidays, or social commitments, but we are sorry just the same. We very much want to keep up with all you who are praying for us. Just so you know, here is what has been going on:
- Last Sunday was our last meeting with our friends at Cornerstone EV Free in Yuba City for a while. We were reminding each other how much of a blessing it has been over the course of the last 4 months to get to know so many in the church family there. (It is one of the few places where we know people so well, we can identify them by the backs of their heads!) We are now in the process of transitioning up to the McKinleyville, CA area for the rest of the winter. Please pray that our kids adjust to their new surrounding well and that contacts for further speaking in churches will be directed by the Lord.
- After many hours of prayer and talking with our partners, we are still working on a plan for survey. (Survey is the process of studying what is known about the tribes in an area and actually hiking in to see what the situation is there on the ground. From the information gathered in survey a location is decided upon for tribal work.) We are looking at several tribal options on the Ramu River (click for a satellite view of the area). Pray for us and our partners as we hash out how to prioritize the many possible locations in which we can work. As we focus in on a specific region and tribe, we are more aware that our expectations and desires need to be conformed to God's purposes. Pray that we are humble and dependent on Him both as individuals and as a team.
- We have been encouraged to see our support levels increase greatly in December. We now have 61 committed daily prayers of our desired 150, and are at about 25% of our recommended financial support. This is encouraging as we look forward to our departure this summer. Pray for us as we look to God to raise up more partners for this ministry.
